Lover Of Tea

Organic Herbal Tea LoverMy name is Tiffany. I am an elementary teacher and lover of tea!

A cup of hot tea means so many things to me. It means sweet memories of my grandmother who served me tea since I was a little girl. It means friendship, as I sit and share a cup of tea with a friend or two. It means leisure time for myself as I drink a cup of tea on the front porch in the early morning. Tea is my company as I sit and read a favourite book curled up in front of a fireplace. And tea is a comfort during the times that I need it most.

I have been drinking tea since I was a very little girl. I can remember as far back as 5 years old when my grandmother would make me a cup of black tea with milk and sugar. Years later during my college years, I held a yearly Mother/Daughter tea party in which I invited my friends and their mothers.

For years, I used your run-of-the-mill tea bags and always used boiling water. I hardly ever used a teapot except for the tea parties. Later when I was married and had a family, we would travel and I would always order a cup of hot tea, be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

I remember one evening while eating out, I had ordered my cup of tea and was warming my chilly hands on the cup when my husband announced, “I have the perfect gift for you!”. Of course, he did not tell me then what it was. However, his gift changed the way I drink tea. He bought me an electric tea kettle with settings for the different types of tea and a bag of loose tea. This was a huge game-changer. Besides no longer buying the grocery store tea bags, having a teapot with different settings opened me to explore a variety of teas. Prior to this, I would just always bring my water to a full boil. Little did I know then the reason I disliked green tea, was because of how I prepared it. I just thought all green tea was bitter. However, my new electric kettle taught me that I was heating the tea at way too high of a temperature. What a difference, the lower temperature made.

Recently I was looking for an outlet. I needed something to help me relax and take my mind off things happening that were out of my control. So, once again I turned to tea. I decided to take a deeper look into tea. I realised I drink these different types of teas but I did not know what they actually were. I didn't even know where my teas came from! As I started my research, I wanted to share my findings. So with my families help, I started my own tea blog and Instagram account dedicated to tea. On my tea blog, I review tea, items used for tea, and different tea companies. I began to learn what is actually considered tea and what is considered a tisane.

I always knew tea had health benefits but what tea had what benefits, I did not know. Much to my surprise, and distaste, I soon learned how some teas are processed with chemicals. This next led me on a search for more organic teas. I am excited about TEA NOW. They have some very unique teas that are sure to help you feel your best.
