CBD Oil With Your Tea?

CBD Oil in Tea Now's Pain Relief TeaWith so many wellness fads marketed, it is easy to become numb to the onslaught and be confused by the claims many make. We often put many of them in the "too hard" basket.  At Tea Now, we see it as our job to embrace the well-researched wellness trends and, providing they work, look at ways of integrating them with our tasty high-performance teas.

We have tried a myriad of products that are not worth mentioning. So naturally, with the growth in the CBD market in Australia, we have been working behind the scenes trialling CBD Oil with a view to developing a blend that integrates this much-hyped and well-researched product into a high-performance tea.

What Is CBD?

Cannabidiol Oil is one of several dozen active compounds found in cannabis. CBD's popular first cousin, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), is the compound that's associated with marijuana's "high" or psychoactive effects. CBD has zero psychoactive effects.

Research shows that CBD Oils have some positive effects on health & wellness and may help relieve pain and reduce inflammation. CBD has shown promise as a treatment for common side effects of cancer treatment, including nausea and vomiting. It even holds promise as a treatment for anxiety and it might help with short-term sleep problems too.

Is CBD Marijuana?

No, it's not. Some people confuse hemp with marijuana because they're both types of cannabis. Indeed, both hemp and marijuana are different varieties of the same plant species, Cannabis sativa. But marijuana typically has between three and 15 percent THC, and hemp has less than one percent. CBD products, by law, cannot have more than 0.2% THC by dry weight.

I Tried CBD in My Tea!

For better or worse, there's a stigma associated with marijuana that may deter people from trying CBD. I have never been a smoker and will be the first one to tell you that, as a rule, I'm no fan of the sensation of being "high" or stoned.

However, I am always curious about alternative treatments for health issues I face, whether it's essential oils for headaches, acupuncture for low-back pain, or probiotics for regular tummy troubles. Because research shows CBD Oil may help ease pain symptoms, I decided it was a good option for me to try.

I started by using half a dropper of a 500-milligram tincture in a cup of Purify Organic Detox Tea in the morning and again before bed. I did this every day for one week. Each half dropper delivers about 8 milligrams of CBD; a full dropper would be 16 milligrams.

The typical recommended doses for people trying CBD Oil for the first time are between 20mg and 40mg per day. However, research shows much higher doses are well tolerated.

My first experience with CBD was nothing short of amazing.  After a particularly long day, I had lower back pain and a severe headache. I was exhausted but decided to go ahead and start the trial anyway. The brand I was trialling recommends you take CBD Oil sublingually or under the tongue for a faster-acting effect. I chose to add it to my tea instead to mask the bitter oil flavour of the tincture.

I don't know if I can fully credit the CBD Oil as I was very tired already but I found myself quite relaxed within 15 minutes of finishing my cup of tea and my back pain was subsiding. Within 45 minutes, I was pain free and my headache was gone. I slept like a baby that night. My sleep tracker recorded 100 percent sleep quality, with very little movement. That's unusual for me, but again, it was a long, taxing day. My body could have been responding to the exhaustion, not the CBD Oil. But it made me even more curious.

Over the past months, we have experimented with different CBD Oil brands; none of them were prescribed. Some are better than others, and you need to be mindful of this as the non-prescription CBD Oil market is unregulated.

Our Plans For A CBD Oil Tea

My impression of CBD Oil is a positive one. From my personal experience trialling almost 20 different CBD Oil brands, I fully believe people can have positive results after taking CBD Oil for various issues, especially pain relief.

We are currently finalising our own pain relief high-performance tea blend. Our plan is to either infuse the tea leaves with CBD Oil or include the CBD Oil in a dropper bottle to control the dose.

If you are interested in this blend, please message us via our website and we will add you to an exclusive list. We expect this blend to sell out quickly as high-quality CBD Oil is difficult to source consistently.
